I just watched a video about older people banding together and creating the coffins they want to be buried in. Literally, they are crafting them by hand and personalizing them. One was covered in pillows and being used as a day bed currently another as a coffee table- To be used properly when needed. They had a song and everything and it was about how the funeral homes did not appreciate them at first- (well they are out a LOT of money) but how they have come around. Funny to watch these older people singing and dancing about living life and wanting to go out the same way they lived their life... It got me thinking... If I were gone today... what would be said about me? It's thought worthy for sure. and how do I want to go out? I want people laughing at my antics or funny things I did not being sad- I am absolutely sure about that. I thought if I made my own casket it would likely be covered in pictures of my family. Especially, my husband and I and our kids. It's the best thing I have created in this life, I believe and its what I would want to be surrounded in at my demise anyway. Kudos to the woman who put tons of pictures of Elvis, but I think I would like mine to be a bit more personal. I would totally invite people to write on my Box with a sharpie something they remember or made them laugh or smile...so I am going out living colorful and BOLD too...Check out the video...
