Hmmm, this is a slippery slope. In today's society, where we struggle every single day to cope with striving for perfection, the end result is simply...NOTHING!
Now that probably sounds a bit odd but the reality is so many of us are so incredibly scared to make a mistake that we don't do ANYTHING, thinking doing nothing will actually be better than making a decision and making the wrong one. I believe in technical terms its called Analysis Paralysis. One literally becomes unable to make any decision because the fear of making the wrong choice is so stressful, you make no choice. Or you feel it's not "perfect" yet so you can't finish it. GUESS WHAT? THAT is a decision! Yes, No choice is a choice. When you relinquish YOUR choice making however, you give up your right to complain about the outcome. Because, often in your absence of choice making someone has had to make one for you. I am often heard saying #makegoodchoices for a reason. IF we don't make them- SOMEONE will make them for us and we are FORCED to live with it! I personally choose to make my own choices -good and bad. At least I will rightfully own whatever consequences that come from it good and bad. What choices are hard for you that make you want to be a turtle and pull your head in and hide?? Or are you that person who says- WHO CARES!!! I am doing it! Ready aim FIRE! And Boom....Make good choices friends... but MAKE them!
You know my devotions this week I was listening to a podcast. The person talked about joy. Radiating joy and how she was with someone sad and down. She decided this gal needed to laugh. So she made a couple funnies and did some other things and she said the other gal laughed and a whole load lifted off her shoulders- it was almost visible. She said she felt pushed in her spirit to reconnect her friend to joy- And there is was- in the silliness- a reason to connect- laugh, have fun -push worry aside and just be present. She went on to talk about being a light in someones darkness. We all have that capability to be a light in someones darkest times. Be joyful- its contagious like the common cold. Spread that stuff like glitter this weekend- Embrace your joy live it- show it on your face spread it around and share your joy! #attractjoy #bealightinsomeonesdarkness
